Every industry, waste disposal is one of the critical areas to be managed. Different technologies can be employed for different types of wastes to convert in a useful manner. Textile industry is the largest organized modern industry in India. The output of this industry are fabrics, yarn, and cotton wool. There has been a phenomenal growth of this industry during four decades. This paper takes and analyzes the potential of waste to energy projects. In a particular yarn industry 0.5 tons of waste cotton fibers are generated per day. The combustion as well as bio digestion is not favored due to its fuel characteristics. Hence a safer disposal has been proposed to convert cotton fibers for compost. Since compost is a long process, a suitable microorganism has been engaged to reduce the time of degradation.
